Wellness and Prevention

Wellness programs in the workplace are a wonderful way to increase the health and well being of your employees.  Some benefits to implementing a program are:  decreased healthcare costs, increased worker productivity, less time lost from work, lowered injury rates, and increased employee health and morale.

Starting a Wellness Program can be a rather overwhelming task.  Some good questions to ask are:

  • What does my population look like?
  • What are my employees health challenges?
  • How do we maintain confidentiality of health information?
  • How do we motivate employees to participate?
  • How do we increase the success rate of our program?

OHN has years of experience in all aspects of workplace wellness programs.  Our knowledgeable staff can develop, implement, and administer a Wellness Program that is just right for you.  We have the tools to help you succeed.

Prevention of work injuries and time lost from work is another important part of what we do at OHN.  Our goal is to provide valuable information and instruction to employers and employees on how to have a healthier, safer work environment.  We accomplish this by offering work station evaluations and plant walk-throughs.  Another valuable service we are able to offer are education seminars for employees.  Some topics include:  Repetitive use injuries and prevention, Back health, Nutrition, Smoking Cessation, Weight loss, and many others.

Respirator Fit

OSHA has modified its requirements for Respiratory Protection in the workplace.  The OSHA code of regulations 29 CFR 1910.134 states, "A respirator shall be provided to each employee when such equipment is necessary to protect the health of such employee...  The employer shall be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of a respiratory protection program...shall cover each employee required by this section to use a respirator."

There is a lot involved in establishing a Respiratory Protection Program for your company and we are equipped to help you with each step.  We can develop and implement your policy and provide the required examinations and respirator fit testing.  OHN will train your employees how to don their masks and keep them in good working condition.

OHN provides Quantitative Fit Testing for both Full and Half Mask.  The brands we test are North, 3M, MSA, and N95.

Visit the OSHA website for more information on standards for respirator use or contact OHN.
